It is situated some 9.5 km from Ibiza and 10 km from San Jose.
How to get there: On the road that leads from the airport you take the turning on the left for Cala Jondal. Some 4 km along the latter, take the signposted turning for Sa Caleta. Take this track down to the cove where you will come across one of the most typical restaurants on the island. It is here that the famous Caleta Coffee was invented. Also to be seen here is the most important Phoenician site on the island.
You can get there by bicycle or car. Description: This is a group of sandy coves or beaches, alternating with pebbled and rocky inlets, situated between marine slopes, all forming part of closed-off bay. Length: 100m. Width: From 7m. to 10m. Substratum: Natural, fine-grained sand, alternating with pebbled and rocky sectors. Bed: The bed is quite varied, containing sandy areas alternating with rocky sections and sectors with underwater vegetation. The depth increases dramatically 5m. out from the shoreline in the sandy areas. Panoramic features: This is a beautiful spot given that it is set right into the marine slopes. Around the inlet we have conifer woods, which are typical to the island. |
