Es Caballet, Ibiza It is situated some 9.5 km from Ibiza and 24.5 km from San Jose.

Es Caballet, Ibiza How to get there: You take the road for the airport, at the outskirts of Sant Jordi, take the turn on the left in the direction of the canal. 4 km along this road you take the signposted turning for Es Cavallet. You can get there by bicycle or car. There is a regular bus service to the Playa de las Salinas (Salinas Beach), which stops at a crossroads, one of which is the Es Cavallet road.

Description: This is a long open beach, with abundant vegetation typical to beach areas.

Length: 1,100m.

Width: From 30m. to 40m.

Substratum: Natural, fine-grained sand, white in colour, all along the beach. At the southern tip there are rocky nooks forming inlets with natural pools.

Bed: Sandy areas with some interesting rocky sections, which ideal for underwater swimming. The shallow waters last quite a distance out to sea, thus minimising bathing risks. There is underwater vegetation to be had at deeper levels.

Panoramic features: This spot is adjacent to the salt mine pools, which are of acknowledged scenic interest. Apart from contemplating typical salt mine structures and buildings, we can also enjoy the sight of wild sea birds. There are several tracks to enable us to stroll among the pine and conifer vegetation so typical of the island.
