Xucla cove

Cala Xucla, Ibiza It is situated some 29 km from Ibiza and 7 km from San Juan.

Cala Xucla, Ibiza How to get there: Take the turning signposted at some 19 km along the road from Portinatx. Then continue on along the steeply sloping asphalt track down to the beach.

You can get there by car or bicycle. In the case of the latter, the cyclist should be an experienced rider given the steepness of the slope.

Description: This coastal inlet forms a cove flanked by large massifs. There is also a stream that runs down to the beach itself.

Length: 45m.

Width: From 30m.

Substratum: This cove has natural medium-grained sand and rocky areas at both ends.

Bed: The bed is nearly completely made of rock and stones, although it does have a lake of sand. The gradient is extremely gentle and does not reach a depth of 1m. until about 20m. from the shoreline, reaching a depth of 2m. at 27m. out to sea.

Panoramic features: The surrounding areas are some of the wildest and most uncultivated to be found on the island given the presence of high cliffs covered with coniferous vegetation.
